Picked this up a while back as part of a trade deal and it's not something I'm interested in keeping long term. Older CAI import Spanish Mauser 1916 Short Rifle. Originally chambered in 7mm Mauser, these were Spanish arsenal re-barreled to 7.62x51. This particular example was sporterized before I acquired it and was the previous owner's deer hunting rifle. Receiver was drilled and tapped for the pic rail, which was also cut to allow for loading the file and ejecting spent cases. Bolt handle has been bent/modified and the stock inlet, making for a more traditional bolt-action hunting rifle profile. Rear sight leaf and front sight post have been removed, but the Simmons 3x9 power scope is included. I'm assuming the firing pin spring was replaced, as operating the bolt requires some strength, but it shouldn't give you any light strikes. I have not shot this rifle, but it shows well and the modifications were done cleanly and purposefully.

Interested in any and all trades without anything specific in mind, so let me know what you are willing to part with and let's make a deal.
