Chambered in.308 Win, it is popular with collectors and hunters. They are known for a strong, reliable, and smooth action with a Mauser-type claw extractor. It features a dark walnut stock with a cheek piece and a 23-inch barrel. It uses a tapered dovetail mounting system; which I have scope rings and a peep sight with selectable aperture between 100/200 yards... It's pretty slick! The L579 is often praised for superior craftsmanship compared to newer models, with high-quality, oil-hardened steel and intricate checkering on the stock.
