I'm done. The red tape I suffer as a tradesman, the gun law nonsense (even if it gets struck down, it's a matter of time. NoVA is growing too fast for us to fight), the non-natural borns in our state legislature, the economic strangling from both sides...
I don't wanna be negative. But I'm suffering from depression and more, so I'm gonna pick up and leave in 6-12 months. I'm not saying you all should follow, stay and fight the good fight if you want. I'm saying I:
Cannot afford VA
Cannot tolerate the abridgement of my rights.
As a Catholic, I fear the massive import of Near East and South Asians to VA (Islam).
Already get flak for my cars at each safety inspection.
Tickets are retarded expensive here too for speeding.
So yeah, greener pastures for me. Sorry guys, I love Virginia, I was born here, I pray to God, and ask the Saints to pray for me too, that this changes, but I am broke, afraid and ready to retreat.

I'm looking at South Carolina. Less restrictions as a tradesman, constitutional carry, it's out of the way in case we have some type of civil insurgency it's not super strategically important, and it's very very heavily conservative. There are trade-offs in every state but it's my top pick. Kentucky is another possibility but I hate the cold; I'd rather go somewhere warm.

God speed. I hate to admit it, but the thought is looming in my mind as well. I love Virginia, as a Virginian, this hurts so much. I do pray for us all, at this time that is what I am doing. But the thoughts of leaving are becoming more often.

Areas that they have developed since i moved here were built up higher due to flooding and the northerners are pouring in as fast as they can. services here are strained ( doctors, dentists etc) most are scheduling over a year out, its a great state and im very happy but pick wisely to avoid tourist and the crowds. i could go on and on but like i said im happy here

We’re out as well…wife born and raised here, I moved here at 5yo, so lifelong. We are very fortunate to be moving “just into” WV and will pocket some money due to house price differences. For me the final straw was the redistricting vote that passed, yes it was overturned, but they (D’s) will bring it up again and probably win again, add on the tax increases coming as well…see ya. The only hope is if the R’s win one house in this election, maybe they’ll be able to apply the brakes to the madness coming out of Richmond, but then again, probably not. Also, if by some miracle the R’s gain total control of both houses, they will not be able to undo everything coming July 1…taxes are here to stay, the gun stuff…maybe some, but not all. Yes, there are downfalls to going into WV, but where we’re moving doesn’t really affect us, other than increasing our commute by 15 minutes. Healthcare, jobs, entertainment, cost of living and everything else, nothing changes, other than we’ll have more money…no personal property taxes on vehicles.
