I figure this is a long shot to sell on here. But you can’t buy salty weapons now, so if you’re born in 1973 spend your money on this!!

I bought this as a birthday present year gun myself. Unfortunately I’m on year 14 of a 10-15 year shoulder prosthetic, and just injured that shoulder again. It makes shooting .45….uncomfortable, so I’m getting out of the caliber (see my 2 listed CMP guns too)

Note: I do NOT have a build sheet for this. It’s why it’s priced so cheaply. And yes you might not think $3500 is cheap, but when you see the gun and the features, if you know 1911s, you know this gun would cost double-triple to that to replicate.

What I do know…EGW did a lot of work on this gun in the early 2000s. They have the record of that. They just don’t have a build sheet either.

This is an all steel 1973 Colt Combat Commander that has:

-a fitted storm lake barrel to an EGW plug and bushing
-checkered front strap and slide stop
-flattened and serrated top of the slide and rear slide serrations
-ball cuts
-welded EGW magwell with lanyard
-tightened slide
-10-8 rear sight with gold bead front
- the whole gun has been Ion-Bonded
- flared and lowered ejection port
And more

It originally had an ambi safety but I was dry firing the gun while watching Magnum PI one night and snapped the arm, so I had NoVA gunsmith Sandy Garrett fit a single sided safety (there is some wear in the area where the ambi safety was)

This is a beautiful gun and amazing shooter. I’ve not shot it more than 150 rounds in the years I’ve owned it.

I know the lack of provenance makes this gun hard to price, but the base gun alone is worth 1/3-1/2 what I’m asking, and getting the gun built out this way would cost thousands of dollars. So $3500 it is. Meet me at my FFL in warrenton and I’ll pay the transfer
