This WW2 German Army Heer Balkenkreutz Aerial Spotter Recognition Vehicle Identification Drape is in excellent, clean condition overall and shows only expected signs of age, handling and storage.

The drape is in exceptionally clean condition and strongly appears to have never been issued or used in services. It measures approximately 76" X 36". The red and white material is strong and vibrant in color, just a few tiny blemishes can be observed. The black cross print is also strong in tone and contrasts well. No rips, tears or holes can be found. When exposed to UV light no "glow" could be detected. All stitching is strong though there is an area of exposed white stitching that can be observed on the backside. This area is not loose or actively worsening and otherwise appears to be undamaged. It would strongly appear that this is the way the drape left the factory. The four attachment grommets are clean but mild traces of age and storage can be noticed. They are magnetic and appear to have a brass-colored lacquer finish. The drape has been stored folded for many years and the "memory" of the folds is detectable. The drape has been folded back the same way it has been stored and that is how it will be stored until sold. Of interest, this piece part of a collection brought home by a US Marine from Virginia who served in the European Theater of Operations.

This drape displays nicely and would make a fine addition to any advanced German military collection, it would be very difficult to upgrade. More photos available upon request. $2000 OBO
