Chief U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor granted a permanent injunction against the federal post office gun ban on September 30, 2025, in the case Firearms Policy Coalition v. Garland (later styled FPC v. Bondi / FPC v. Blanche). The win became final when the Department of Justice dropped its appeal on July 16, 2026.
