Re-listing this colt. It is a 1973 combat commander with work by EGW. I don’t have a build sheet. Both myself and the previous owner contacted EGW about this. They don’t have build sheets this far back.

But the previous owner got this from Gunsmith Jim Milks

It looks like EGW preformed some work on the gun. The serrations on the top of the slide, the front strap checkering, and magwell were all done here. The mono bushing and plug is ours but probably done after the fact. EGW did not do the ejection port opening on the slide, we have no reference for the grips, barrel, or internals.

i also contacted EGW and this is what they told me

owner looked through the pictures and said that the gun has some features of a gun that we worked on. The bushing and spring plug and top of the slide.

gunsmith sandy garrett installed a single sided safety for me. As you can see it’s all ion bonded

there are the bone grips fitted to this magwell that will come with the gun as well as the wood grips you will see in the pictures

This gun has a flattened and serrated slide, ball cuts, a serrated mag release and rear of the slide to go along with its 10-8 rear sight and gold bead front. It’s got an EGW bushing and plug to go along with its fitted storm lake match barrel. The checkering is sublime to go along with the welded EGW magwell. And it is finished in amazing ion bond, Someone with a 1973 birth year can get a custom Colt at a steal.

if anyone is wondering about the price breakdown, feel free to go to EGW or anywhere else and look how much this custom work would cost. Ion bonding alone will run you upwards of $600 for the fun and internals

if i had a build sheet i would expect this gun to sell for double what i’m asking

it’s a chance to get a full custom colt at a disgustingly cheap price

if it was in 9mm i’d keep it forever
