FS: Eddystone (ERA) P14 Enfield, .303 British, volley sights intact with original stock cartouche
Eddystone-made P14, receiver ring stamped ERA over serial 23576. The bolt handle flat is stamped 23576 with the Eddystone E beneath it. Rear volley sight base carries an E as well.
Both halves of the long-range volley sight are present and working. The dial plate is inletted into the left side of the forend, graduated 1500 to 2600, with the pointer arm and its stop screw intact. The pivoting aperture arm at the rear sight is there and swings freely. Most P14s that went through British refurbishment came back without this, so an untouched pair on a matching-bolt Eddystone is what the price reflects.
Buttstock retains its original inspection stamps: a circled E ahead of the brass stock plug, with a PAT.14 stamp and a further inspector mark below it. The plug is stamped 32. No sanding; the stamps still have depth. Wood is what is expected with typical wartime handling. No visible cracks on the stock.
Rear ladder sight is complete, graduated to 1650, elevation slide and windage screw both function. Front sight blade and protective ears are original and undamaged. Nose cap, both barrel bands, sling swivels, and the bayonet lug are all present. Magazine follower, spring, and floorplate function normally. Bolt cycles smoothly, cocks and dry fires, extractor and ejector both work. Have personally not fired this rifle.
No visible import marks and Weedon-era conversion work.
Asking $1200
