An excellent example of a Colt 1855 'Root Model 2' Sidehammer Pocket Revolver. Features .28 cal., 3½” oct. bbl., Indian/cabin cylinder scene, Hartford barrel address with pointed hand. This Root revolver was manufactured in 1855. It has the standard brass pin front and notch rear sights, "COLT'S PT./1855" and "ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top of the barrel divided by Maltese crosses and the pointing hand motif, Indian/cabin cylinder scene, and a smooth one-piece grip. Excellent action with a tight lockup. Good and aged bo.
