Anybody have a good reason why all of a sudden the 30/30 has gone from a $600 piece to a $1000 piece? Some people in this group have lost their damn minds.Ya know when Obama took office twice, prices for guns and ammo went crazy too.Why is now any different? Working men/women can't afford the stupid prices people are asking these days.Just stupid and crazy in my opinion. My rant for the week.lol!!

It's not really related to pandemic, Biden, or others. In this case, it's mostly a Marlin thing, and people have gone nuts for Marlins in the past year. And it's similar to why they were $300 two years ago.

Part is people are idiots. Part is panic buying anything that shoots and is simple to use. And part is Marlin being bought by Ruger.
But mostly the people are idiots thing

Most of the pre-Remlin guns are kept by those who still remember why they bought a lever gun in the first place. The stuffs being exchanged around are mostly Remlin junk. Get a Henry if you want a good and new lever lever gun, get a Winchester if you want history and your own campfire stories, or just get a Rossi if you just want a good shooter.

In my opinion a model 94 is king. With that being said at the start of the kung flu I was at Walmart in Ruckersville getting some .22 ammo. They had 1 marlin in stock, I think it was $386. I bought it, and while doing the paperwork several people walked up wanting to buy it. After that day it looked like the gun buying craze had started. I bought it with intentions of having a spare, but wound up giving it to my dad. It had a crappy looking maple stock, dad has sanded it and stained it a pretty walnut. It is a very pretty rifle now. Most importantly we took it out to our range, and no **I VOTED FOR BIDEN**, its a shooter. 100 yards open sighted you do not want to stand in front of it. For $386 I think its a hell of a value, big box or not. Maybe others have the opposite experience but dad loves his "Remlin". Me on the other hand I like my old "94", but prefer the marlin pistol grip style stock to the straight winchester. I imagine when ruger starts turning them out, they will have a better bluing, dads is more of a matt finish, but as I said his "Remlin" is a perfectly reliable rifle. Just my $.02 on the issue....

So I know this is an old post, but I picked something up last year from an ex-coworker who was in need of some quick cash.So I gave what I thought was a fair price. After I got it I was doing some research cause it was an odd model to me.MARLIN Model 30 TK.Turns out it was a Kmart exclusive, they were made only a couple years and it's called a "Texan".And I waited, never bought one after this post.Figured the right deal would come along sooner rather than later. And it turns out is sought-after passionately by marlin collectors.Wish I could get a good accurate value on it.See what you think.
