And what a rare resource ! Bob’s post included good pics and all pertinent details, as well as a summary of the history of the firearm in general, the specifics of the original firearm in particular, notes on the build, and the master smith that completed the rebuild.

Not only did this gentleman thoroughly research this rifle from a general FAL perspective, he took great care to know about this particular issue of the FAL, this unique piece itself, and it’s history; from issue to decommission, to sale, through rebuild by a notable gunsmith specializing in the FAL. At every step of the process Bob went above and beyond to ensure this historic piece was honored with the best quality and most historically accurate build available. Truly an impressive labor of love !

I cannot express my respect for his investment of energy and care, or his willingness to share these with me, a perfect stranger met on VaGT... I was - and am - honored by it.
