I contacted Jackimoe and negoiated the sale of his S&W 5906. We agreed on price and date and location at which to meet. Below, I have included the PM's we exchanged to set up the dea. First attempt, Jackimoe had to re-schedule for medical reasons. I had no problem with that. On Saturday (8/6) we arranged to meet the next day; Jackimoe chose the time and location and I agreed. I arrived at the location for our meet 10 minutes early. One minute later, Jackimoe texts me to say that he has been delayed and it will be two hours before he could get to our meet. The normal drive time from his starting point in Newport News to the meet location is 1&1/2 hours and he has waited to tell me that he is two hours away until 9 MINUTES BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO MEET! Which means it was time for our meet and he had not even left home yet!! I can only figure that he never really planned to meet me in the first place. I got no apology from him for having me waste my time driving an hour each way to meet him and no offer from him to make up for failing to keep up his end of our deal. So instead of repeating this mistake, I told him that I would cut my losses and look somewhere else for that handgun. Other members have left positive feedback on his profile, but I'll never deal with him again. I just wanted to let everyone else know to be careful with this Guy.

Hey bud--- First-- thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Second-- I had seen your 5906 when you first posted it, but could not afford it at $500. I found a police turn-in at a pawn shop near my daughter's home and I was going to have her get it for me, but decided to check on yours (which is in much better condition) before I had her buy it. I really thought you had sold it by now and just wanted to be sure. I really don't want to waste your time, but since you still have it, I will make an offer. I'm on ther other side of Richmond; my round trip to your location will be a little over 4 hours. Taking off $10 per hour for fuel and my time, I can offer $445.00 ($485 minus $40) for the 5906. I could do 460. Unfortunately, my car repairs are on the backburner for now. I just had a tooth pulled and a couple of ER visits so I need to knock out the bills.

I think you'll find the pistol more than acceptable if you can swing it. Also, I am more than willing to meet you near Richmond somewhere or the rest stop in New Kent if you can do it on Sunday for 460.

I am in North Carolina all of this weekend, so I can't meet tomorrow. Greentop would work great for me and $460 would be very fair if you would be able to meet me there. If you are coming up to Ashland from Hampton Rds. via 64, then STUPID traffic incidents would be the exact thing that I would fear. For my part, assuming that I get out of work on time and encounter no traffic problems of my own, I can be at Greentop in Ashland by 7:45 PM. I will be the tired, old, fat, bald guy driving a gray, 4-door 2015 Honda Civic and I only bring Cash (plus BOS form and ID's, of course). If you are talking about this coming Sunday (8/7), then that should be no problem! Just let me know what time works best for you. And call back to your dentist or oral surgeon and let him (her?) know about the bleeding. I am sure he(she?) would want to correct the problem. And if he doesn't, don't pay him!!! I can meet you any time between 10 AM and 5 PM. I guess I would prefer 10 AM because that would give me the rest of the day free, but I don't want to make it difficult for you. Does anytime between 10 and 5 work well for you?

The PM's posted here between Glenn and I are accurate.

I went out of my way to lower the price on the gun for him as well as agree to travel-- three hours round trip to make the deal happen. I don't like the fact that the section of interestate between he and I is a complete nightmare sometimes. I made this clear early on that I't could be a problem due to traffic delays. It's summertime here and there are tons of folks coming up from the south and heading back north.

I estimated about 1.5 hrs travel time and advised him I'd leave at about 11:30. After leaving the gas station at 11:45, I sent him a text message letting him know I was on the way. While traveling through Hampton, the VDOT signs advised that the two inner lanes were closed at Jefferson Ave. The sign was not accurate. VDOT had the entire interstate closed due to an accident and they were sending all vehicles off onto Jefferson Ave.. northbound and southbound.

Anyone that travels through there knows there is sometimes a back-up at this bottleneck but once you clear it, traffic starts to roll pretty well. It's no real surprise to see the back-up there but it is to see the interstate closed. After sitting in traffic and barely moving along Jefferson Ave I texted Glenn and told him I was about two hours out due to the traffic issue. This was an estimate based on the way that traffic was moving. I also expected to hit more delays on the way up there.

His response was "You tell me 15 minutes{or maybe 10} before you do the meet that you are two hours out?" I explained to him that the interstate was closed and I was stuck in the detour traffic and it's out of my control. He suggested another day and I was willing to try that.

He then sent me a text message telling me he was backing out of the deal and was cutting his losses. He wasn't the slightest bit concerned about any expenses on my end or my good faith effort to attempt to meet. The travel time to get to him was an estimate on my part.

I am a member in good standing here with good feedback. I won't do business with Glenn at all now simply because I feel like he is a "special needs" member with a bit of an unrealistic expectation. This is an attempted deal between two members that just didn't work out. There was no scamming or dishonesty on either side and I don't question his morality, just his lack of understanding that there are some instances when Old Man Murphy jams a stick in the spokes....
