If you had a problem with logging in, or staying logged in after closing and reopening your browser please let us know what you did to correct it.
I had a problem when trying to log in using Internet Explorer 8.
I fixed the problem with IE8 by upgrading to IE9.
Then there was a problem with Mozilla FireFox. I would not stay logged in after closing the FireFox browser. I fixed that by :
Tools Options Privacy Remove individual cookies Remove all cookies
Please list the web browser you used when experiencing the problem...EI 8,9, FireFox, Google Chrome, smart phone, etc.
Click on "My Stuff"
A drop down menu will show
Click on "Edit My Profile"

I have been using IE9 since it was released and did not have any problems staying logged in until about a week ago. Now, I have to log on every time I visit the site. Not a major inconvenience....but, I would also like to hear the solution if anyone finds it!
Hoping that posting my details might help pinpoint the issue!

I did this for IE9: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/8395/ie9-how-to-delete-cookies-for-a-single-domain/After I did it I couldn't stay logged in, once I restarted the computer everything works now and I don't have to log in every time I come to this site. I did this a few days ago and I am still fine, I don't have to log in every time anymore. Make sure you restart your computer after you so what the instructions say.

For what it's worth, here is what happened to me. The first time I attempted to login when the site appearance changed and the ads appeared (using the same password I registered with over a year ago) I was denied and re-routed to the login screen. After multiple attempts I clicked the link to retrieve my password. A temporary password was sent to my email but when I tried to use it to log in I was again denied and re-routed to the login screen. For a 2nd time I requested a temporary password which also didn't work. Finally, on my third attempt the temporary password worked. I went to "my stuff" to change my password and noticed that there were approximately 15 characters (which appear as black dots) in the box where my 9 character password should have appeared. I entered a new password and I have not had any problems since. I'm not really sure what the problem was but I figured I would share it in case it could be of some help.

I am a new user, just logging on for the first time and have had the same issue I read in your post. The only difference is I have tried to change my password in settings, and it will not allow the change to occur.

David - are you still having trouble staying logged on after trying all the quoted remedies ? We've been undergoing some site changes here lately so hopefully you just got caught up temporarily in the matrix.
Keep trying and welcome to the site.

make sure you re using the updated version of whatever web browser you are using. Using Internet Explorer ??? Try FireFox or Chrome They work much better than IE....my opinion, and many others prefer it too. I had to reboot my laptop once so that I could get logged on.

On my desktop, I have no problems with logging in or staying logged in (Win 7, IE11).
On my Surface tablet (RT 8.1, IE 11), it was a completely different story; I couldn't use this site at all. Every time I logged in, I was taken to my watch list. As soon as I clicked to go anywhere else, I had to login again, which would take me to my watch list - a vicious circle.
Solution, deleted history and cookies, problem appears to be solved.
Edit: A week later - still good to go.

I cannot send messages thru the PM system. When I start to type a message, it freezes after a few key strokes. I restart my PC and it repeats the glitch. No other sites are doing this. Even had a remote session to tune up my PC to no avail.

I have noticed a problem recently when clicking the logo at the top of the page to return to the forum list. I believe one of the .html pages for this site has been altered/corrupted. Upon clicking the icon it will link you to vaguntrader.com/forums, which is not the same as www.vaguntrader.com/forums. By clicking the logo, the site loads but I am not logged in. If I manually type the www. into the address, then everything works like normal again. I've been working on training myself to click the title headings below the logo to return to where I want to go, as those don't seem to have issues. Running: Firefox 56.0.02 on a desktop Win7 machine.
