I think it's more than reasonable. If it ain't priced right, it ain't gonna sell.

Some items may be so obscure that it takes a while to move. I have things that have been bumped frequently in the WTB category. No one seems to have them, or if they do, they aren't willing to part with them right now.

Mostly its just over priced stuff, not sure how a 350.00 new ar can turn into a 600.00 ar with 500 rnds down the tube

I see the same members asking within 5% of retail cost. Most of these guys are selling items that would sell within a week if their asking price was in line with the current market. Guns are like cars, once off the lot they are used. Also, as stated in a previous forum, adding a boatload of stipulations will deter many potential buyers. If you look at the guys with high thread counts, and lots of postive feedback you will notice what they ask for an item is very fair, if not an excellent deal.

Lol, anyone remember the helicopter that sold within a week years back?? If it takes 45 bumps to sell your BCM Mk12 it's priced way too high! Often adding better pictures, or adding an accessory or ammo will get an item to move if it's in constant bump mode. I actually enjoy trading more than selling. I've gotten firearms in trades I thought I would have no interest in, but my horizons were expanded and these are now keepers for life.

24 bumps? Would say that if you have to bump it once a week for more than ten weeks, you ought to get the message and drop it off if its for sale,or raise the offer if you are looking to buy.

In my opinion, it could go either way. I traded an upper last week that I had posted back in early June or July. I wasn’t trying to make money on the item, and at my price, it was an incredible deal. It sat and sat, week after week. I realized that I had a unique item, so I was patient. Ironically, instead of selling it, I traded it for something that I wasn’t even originally looking for.

My point is that it took the right trader’s interest to finally get it out of my safe. Even if something is priced to sell, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will go quickly, especially in today’s market.

Side note, I usually bumped the post one or twice a week, NOT every day.

Some items just don't sell fast.

I think there can be a perception something is overpriced if it has been bumped a few times. I find I mostly get offers the first time I post an item.

Would make more sense to only allow an item to be bumped once every 5 days or so.

I cross post my items to several sites... usually a little lower on the price here to save the hassle of shipping and I know some folks.

Most items sell on other sites, before they sell here... just the nature of this site... i.e. everyone is used to finding a bargain on VAGT... or are just a pack of cheapskates... don't really matter.

Stuff always sells sooner or later.

"Good Guy" bumps/tags used to help, but overall this site has been highjacked by MANY (not all) fools and prepubescent man-children (and women). Just look at the SB sometime.

Just saying what I/many think... don't really care if you agree or disagree.

(PLEASE add me to your ignore list if you are really really mad... or I melted your snowflake world).

This isn't a complaint just an observation, but the site made a large polar shift after Sandy Hook. That was when the big member surge took place, and the entire vibe changed.

I understand where you are going with this but I have got responses after that many posts , its not hurting anyone and we get new members all the time . My opinion is that if you want to bump a 100 times then that is your choice

I would not agree with the limit.

For example, I had an item that was unique that I bumped for months. I knew the price was right on it. In the end the right buyer found it and made me an extremely fair trade deal.

For the less unique items, they tend to sell fairly quickly.

Don't agree. My post has been up for a while and I've been bumping it almost daily when I can. I've also received a bunch of offers for my post at the same time, but they were for guns I wasn't interested in.

Just because the threads been bumped a lot doesn't mean there's nothing going on behind the scenes.
