Any center fire rifle and any sights allowed
2018 Match dates: April 29, October 27
Sunday April 29 - Gates open 9:30AM, Relay 1 starts at 10:3 0AM Relays added as needed.
Saturday October 27 - Gates open at 8:00AM, Relay 1 starts at 8:45AM or as soon as the line is full.
Relays added as needed.
Entry fee: $18.00 for IW member ( ANY IW, not just ours), $20.00 for non-members.
TRY AND BRING THE RIGHT CHANGE, THERE IS NO ATM ON OUR RANGE.
There will be a sight in period before each relay, 2 minutes for 2 sighters.
Each relay will consist of 20 rounds for record, single loaded slow fire, in a 20 minute time limit. This is a re-entry match – competitors may pay fee for and shoot multiple relays in multiple classes, line space permitting( ready line shooters get first priority)
Front supports may be Sand bags, Bench rest pedestal, Bipod, Crossed sticks, etc. Rear supports may be SINGLE sand bags or similar non-rigid support. No mechanical rear supports allowed.
CLASSES
OPEN class: Tactical & heavy barrel hunting rifles.
VARMINT: Rifles under .23 caliber not classed as Service
SPORTING class: Scoped(9X max.) Standard weight hunting rifles(.23 cal. Minimum)
SERVICE: All iron sighted military rifles, any country of origin.
HERITAGE : Iron sighted, pre 1900 or replica(yup, that even includes your 1894 Winchester!)
Awards will be given for High Overall and class winners. Classes with less than 5 entries will be combined with other classes for award purposes. (i.e. usually OPEN & VARMINT will be combined)
SCORING
Individual shots will be scored at the value of the LOWEST scoring ring touched upon use of a .30 caliber scoring gauge(for calibers .30 and less). Larger calibers get lowest value touched also.
Targets will be retrieved by Match Directors/Range Officers. Shooters may be required to score other competitors targets as directed, if sufficient numberof Match Directors/Range Officers are unavailable.
SAFETY
RIFLES MUST REMAIN IN CASES AND/OR VEHICLES (UNLOADED) UNTIL SHOOTERS
RELAY IS CALLED TO THE FIRING LINE, (there will be a preparation period to allow shooters
to get their equipment set up on the firing line).
Rifles will remain unloaded on the firing line until the range officer gives the load command.
EAR AND EYE PROTECTION IS MANDATORY. There will be no handling of firearms while anyone is
downrange. Empty Chamber Indicators are required .
