https://imgur.com/a/rwfQBvcUp for sale is a 1943, WWII-production Lee-Enfield #4 Mk 1 that has been sporterized and used as a hunting rifle.
THIS IS A LEND-LEASE, MATCHING SERIAL # RIFLE from WWII that eventually made its way back to the US at some point. It has most likely seen service.
The price reflects that. The asking price is still well below what these go for on GB and elsewhere.
Chambered in .303 British. Markings are as follows, in order of marking:
- Matching S/N on the wrist and bolt
- Stamped US PROPERTY on receiver for use in Lend-Lease
- Proof marks on barrel from UK armory where they tested/proofed the rifle
There are no import markings on the firearm, which is uncommon. We know from the above markings that it made it over to the UK. This means it was not reimported by a US company at some later date. It was likely either carried back by a U.S. servicemember, or *ahem* somehow otherwise made it back from theater.
The bore is mint, and the crown is good. Rifle is in perfect working order, and has been well-maintained. Put about 20rds through it personally. I think it's a Savage-made rifle, but cant tell from roll marks. It's a tack-driver.
Also can include 50rds of PPU .303 British for free.
Price is $640 OBO.
