Up for sale is a rare, unfired, Russian-built (Izhmash @ Izhevsk) SAIGA Arsenal SGL 21-94. I purchased the rifle directly from Trader Jerry’s (Salem, VA) on 9/28/2012. After initial inspection, the rifle was placed inside a silicone-impregnated gun sock and stored in a humidity- and temperature-controlled safe where it has remained ever since. Collectors and AK enthusiasts, if you’ve ever wanted a top-quality Russian-sourced AK, this is your chance. These rifles almost never come on the market in unfired condition.

Importation of these rifles to the US from the Kalashnikov Concern ceased in 2014. Although exact numbers are unknown, one knowledgeable source I have spoken with believes that only ~500-1000 entered the US before the 2014 ban.

Given the nature of recent international events, this ban is unlikely to be reversed in the foreseeable future. Thus, this is perhaps your best opportunity to purchase an unfired Russian-sourced AK-103 clone.

The SGL 21-94 is the civilian semi-automatic version of the AK-103 assault rifle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-103), which is used by "...Spetsnaz GRU, SSO, selective VDV and Russian Naval Infantry units, Wagner Group, Alpha Group and Police / Spetsnaz units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs." It is a derivative of the AK-74M (but chambered for the 7.62x39mm M43 cartridge).

The SGL 21-94 has a black polymer stock set and a Russian-made stamped receiver. It is chambered in 7.62x39, and comes with a chrome-lined hammer-forged barrel, and a front sight block with bayonet lug. It has an Arsenal two-stage trigger, a 90º gas block, a smooth, thickened receiver cover, and the AK-74-style front sight block with 24mm x 1.5mm right-hand threads and a removable AK-100 series style Arsenal muzzle brake. The handguards are polymer with a stainless-steel heat shield, and the rifle comes with a polymer Russian side-folding AK-100 series buttstock with a trap door that houses an internal cleaning kit capsule, a 1,000-meter rear sight leaf, a scope rail, and an accessory lug.

This offering includes the rifle, two user manuals (1 in English, 1 in Russian), one 5-rd US-made magazine, a factory (Arsenal) test target, a signed Russian (Legion-Trade) acceptance certificate dated 9/4/2011, and the original box. All documents bear the rifle's serial number.
Asking price: $3995.

Sale/transfer to occur in NoVA either face to face or at buyer's (local) FFL of choice. Cash payment required. No trades. Buyer pays transfer fee. If you don't have an FFL, I can suggest one. Valid Virginia CCW permit holder preferred for FTF sale. Valid current VA driver’s license required. PM me if interested. More pictures can be provided upon request.

Additional information:

One of the most coveted Russian AK rifles to ever hit the US market, it is a pre-ban AK from the combined effort of Legion Ltd. and Arsenal Inc. of Las Vegas Nevada. Legion Ltd. produces and sells firearms of improved quality and is the custom shop of Russia’s legendary Izhmash Factory located in Izhevsk, the capital city of Russia’s Udmurt Republic, which is the largest firearms producer in Russia and the same plant that makes Kalashnikov military AKs. The Izhmash factory is the factory that Mikhail Kalashnikov personally worked at.

Under Executive Order 13662 this rifle was banned from importation into the USA. All serial numbers match (receiver, paperwork and factory box as well as the bolt and bolt carrier). The rifle has a factory installed scope rail and bayonet lug just like the original military model, a chrome-lined cold hammer forged barrel, front sight block, 24x1.5 right-hand threads, muzzle brake, milspec handguards with stainless steel heat shield and a Warsaw-length buttstock. I have the purchase receipt from Trader Jerry's.

This may be one of the last opportunities for you to purchase a brand new milspec Russian AK, the venerable SGL-21 - a true masterpiece of combloc weaponry.
