The SpecterDR 1-4 Dual Role Optical Sight represents a revolution in optical sight design. The world’s first truly dual field of view combat optical sight, the SpecterDR switches instantly from a 4x magnified sight to a 1x CQB sight with the throw of a lever. Unlike zoom sights, the SpecterDR offers an optimized optical path and identical eye relief in both 4x and 1x modes. The German Bundeswehr adopted the most recent version of this optic in 2021 (Bundeswehr adopts Elcan).

Depending upon the situation, the user may adjust the sight to illuminate the crosshair or just a brilliant red dot in the center. In 1x mode, the SpecterDR has by far the largest field of view in the industry. In 4x mode the SpecterDR offers a generous field of view, long eye relief, and ELCAN’S legendary crystal-clear image.

The SpecterDR 1-4 offers the best single solution for both Medium Range and CQB engagements and is designed to withstand the rigors of modern professional use.

The Specter DR provides two reticle modes: A Red Dot at the center of the crosshairs, and a Range Estimating and Drop Compensation Reticle. Each reticle mode has multiple brightness settings and is set by the Illumination switch on the left side of the sight.

-CQB – 1X Magnification with a 6 MOA illuminated red dot
-Long Range Red Dot – 4X Magnification with a 1.5 MOA illuminated red dot
-Long Range Crosshair – 4X Magnification with an illuminated ballistically compensated and ranging reticle
-DFOV14-T1 reticle: (5.56x45mm) is calibrated with NATO 62 gr

I purchased this scope for an FN SCAR 16S, but it was never used. I purchased it directly from Armament Technology Inc. on 10/16/2019 and it has been stored continuously since that time in a climate-controlled safe. Before placing it in the safe, I installed a battery (CR2032) to ensure that the reticle illumination worked.

The scope comes in the original cardboard factory box with two lens caps, an anti-reflection device, and a manual. Asking price (firm): $2395 2450 2500.

Sale/transfer preferred in NoVA at an agreed-upon public location (such as a library, business, or my range [IWLA Arlington-Fairfax]). If so, cash payment will be required. Otherwise, I can ship it to the purchaser via USPS Priority Mail at the recipient’s expense after receiving payment (cashier’s check, USPS money order). No trades please.

PM me if interested. More pictures can be provided upon request.

This is a very good price for this NIB FDE Elcan.

Last week (2/19/2026) two identical USED Elcans sold for $1950 and $2125 on Gunbroker.com. These final auction prices did not include shipping, taxes, or the GB fee.
