Seeking advice--I have 30ac in Spotsy, wooded, undeveloped with gravel drive cut in. Electric pole is 400ft away from property line. I haven't been using the property, so planning to put a 3-4 bedroom home on the property and then sell it. I am thinking about a 3 bedroom mobile home for $80K or Quonset home or log cabin. Leaning toward the mobile home route due to known cost, lower cost, and faster completion. Property between Fredricksburg and Lake Anna. Anyone gone through a mobile home purchase or home build. Experience, recommendation?

Just from research...I would not do log cabin as they take a metric crap ton of maintenance...a crap ton

My wife and I purchased a double wide many years ago, around 2000. Back then it was a great process, they did a package deal with the home, land, clearing, well and septic all in one loan. It was an easy and affordable option at that time, I can't say if it is the same now.

I would suggest talking to a realtor, if you haven't already, to find out what is the best return on your investment if selling is your only goal.

A manufactured home is another option to consider, where they build it in sections in a factory then assemble on site on a foundation. Possibly more value than a mobile home but faster and cheaper than stick built.

I give a plus one to what Minigun said, log cabins require a lot of maintenance over time, a friend of mine has one.
