Is it just me who knows about this? Dealers are charging $25-$75 dollars when the law says they may not charge more than $15.

$15 fee for the background check, and $10-$60 for the ability to stand near them and behold the wonderful work they are doing. It has been argued by many. Haven't heard anyone bring a lawsuit and win it yet. Sounds like perhaps we have a volunteer to determine case law?

Also after Judge Patrick Yeatts put a permanent injunction on the universal background check Law passed in 2020 a new law does not automatically lift a permanent injunction set by a judge and the court, so FFL’s do not have a right to tell you that you have to do a universal background check for every private gun sale. State Police are actually banned from doing universal background checks. The July 1st law does not apply to lifting a permanent injunction. Also judge Patrick Yeatts refused to lift it in 2025 and never has since.
