Details-
U.S. Model 1902-pattern Officer's Sword. Beautiful, immaculate triple acid-etched chrome blade with original leather buffer pad. Nickel-plated hilt with black composite grip with finger grooves and three-branch guard. Minor wear on top of grip.

Right ricasso etched with copper-colored star and “PROVED.” Right side of blade marked “EASTERN MILITARY ACADEMY” with infantry and cavalry etchings.

Left ricasso marked “DEFENDER” TRADE MARK, N.S. MEYER INC., WEST GERMANY, with the Carl Eickhorn squirrel trademark of Solingen. Left side of blade is personalized “Count Michael DeBalitch” and features the academy motto “What you are, to be you are, now becoming,” with flag and leaf etchings.

Eastern Military Academy was founded in 1944 and operated at Oheka Castle in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY from 1948 until 1979. This sword dates to the 1950’s or later based on other known swords.
