*Ooops. I posted a pic that a buddy sent me that was killed in Prince Edward. I posted and never even looked at the post until tonight. Now I can't find the picture I meant to post.

These are all from one camera and all from last week. I know which area I'll be in this weekend! I think 2 of the pics are the same deer. All of them are shooters though.

Jeez wish I had deer around me like that! Can't wait for this weekend though.

Well now for the exact opposite end of the spectrum. My son's first blackpowder, Halloween, 16th birthday buck. Shot at about 8:30 opening day still hunting a ditchline on the family property in Accomack Co.. He shot him at about 15yards with his .50cal Thompson Center White Mountain Carbine. He was using 320gr t/c maxi-balls with 80grains of pyrodex rs. The high neck shot dropped him like a sack of taters.

I dropped 2 does on Saturday, young and tender, very tasty. I've seen a buck behind my house, but haven't gotten a good look or clear shot at him yet.

The early mornings and sitting in the rain paid off this morning. This appears to be the same buck that a friend of mine shot on the first day of muzzleloading. We never found any blood or evidence that he hit it, hoped for a clean miss. Turns out he just skimmed it's back, it had a nasty wound. I got him this morning off the same stand and in almost the same spot where my buddy missed him. Worked out for me, he crashed hard and didn't make it more than 20 yards from impact.

2-8 points this Archery season. The top one was harvested on Oct 23rd and the second one 7 days later.

For the non-typical fans, this is not mine, saw it at a customers house. Very wild stuff.

Decided to go sit for a couple hours this afternoon. Just before dark I hit the grunt call and this 9 point showed up. The shot may look high but I was about 10 feet off the ground shooting down on him with my 45-70

Good for you for pulling over and saving it! I usually drive around w/ a hacksaw in case I spot one on the side of the road and can at least salvage the horns.

Man, those are some really nice deer. I haven't seen any of the big boys I got on camera yet. I think the rut is over in that part of the state. Passed on a nice 8 this past Saturday and then killed a little doe.
