This Pre-WW2 German NSFK DLV Glider Pilot Dress Dagger & Scabbard is in good condition overall but shows signs of age, damage from handling and storage.

The blade ricasso has a detailed etched makers mark depicting F. A. Helbig's stylized hallmark. This company, as well as this particular hallmark, are uncommon and not often seen. The blade is clean and un-sharpened, only mild evidence of age, staining and scabbard wear can be noticed. No “play” or “wobble” can be detected in the blade, it is securely held in place as it is shown. The crossguard retains the original blue leather spacer and is correctly marked with a “K” stamp. The enamel and the plating are in good condition however expected wear from age and handling cane be detected. The original scabbard is also in good, solid condition and displays expected evidence of age and storage. The throat is marked with an NSFK stamp. One of the screws on the lower ferrule has been lost and it's hole exhibits mild damage apparently resulting from this loss. The blue leather is mostly clean however a few light blemishes can be noticed. The brown leather belt hanger is original and in equal condition to the other pieces included. The leather is soft and shows wear however no damage from dry rot or the elements can be noted.

This complete Pre-War dagger would make a fine addition to any WW2 German edged weapons collection and would be difficult to upgrade. $1500 OBO
