Help! It started with Gmail, now Yahoo. There are others ..I think Outlook and AOL. There has to be something embedded in these emails that's causing them to be blocked. Some code or something. 1. Who's still getting email notifications, and what email are you using? 2. Who here can look at an email and decipher everything in it to see what might be causing it to be blocked and not delivered?
Its the "new member registration" and "private message" notification emails....which is really the only emails sent out I even tried changing my email that its being sent from, no luck. I dont know if its the server itself that is generating something thats causing it to be blocked??
Please email me and let me know what emails are still allowing my emails from website to pass to you. And if you can help let me know. Thanks!!
Vaguntrader@gmail.com Anything in this make sense? AI Overview
Standard major email providers (like Gmail, Outlook/Hotmail, and Yahoo) generally do not ban or block notifications directly because a website is a firearm forum. Instead, automated spam filters, aggressive junk-mail rules, or the forum's own mail server configuration cause notifications to land in spam folders or fail to deliver.
Why Firearm Forum Notifications Get Delayed or Blocked
• Aggressive Spam Filters: Large providers (Outlook/Hotmail and Gmail) frequently flag automated bulk mail or forums with high volumes of subscription alerts as low-priority or potential junk. • Forum Server Reputation: Many smaller or niche discussion boards do not configure proper email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), causing major providers to reject their messages automatically. • Content Triggers: Specific keywords or links tied to classifieds or gear discussions can occasionally trip automated content filters.
How to Fix or Prevent Blocks (Regardless of Provider)
1. Whitelist the Forum Domain: Add the forum's official email address or domain to your Safe Senders list (in Outlook) or create a filter in Gmail to "Never send it to Spam". 2. Check Spam/Junk Regularly: Mark legitimate forum notifications as "Not Spam" to train the filter. 3. Use an Independent or Custom Domain: Using a self-hosted email or a privacy-focused provider (like Proton Mail) gives you full control over incoming filter rules, though some forums occasionally block free encrypted domains during registration due to anti-bot measures.
